I am working to preserve what makes this town a great place to live and to make sure our advances benefit all our residents. I was born here and I have lived here most of my life. My motivations are not guided by political ambition or business ties.

As a council member, I have worked to deliver the benefits of our local economy to all residents, to retain the small town charm that residents and visitors cherish, and to restore opportunities for entrepreneurs who can deliver goods and services to all our residents.

I make it my number-one priority to be open and accessible to residents, and I speak frequently with those who have concerns about our town. I relish the opportunity to meet with members of our community at the market, at football and baseball games, at school events, and at all the local celebrations I attend.

I have worked hard to become a trusted ally who treasures clear communication. I work diligently to improve the lives of neighbors throughout Healdsburg, and I strive to help people of all types. I do this because of the love I feel for the town we call home.

Goals

Your Concerns Are My Concerns:

  • A commitment to public safety

  • Balance downtown

  • Improved roads and infrastructure

  • A commitment to addressing the concerns of our vital Latino community

  • A resilient and sustainable water supply

  • Affordable places to live

  • Support for our innovative small businesses

  • Input from everyone in our community

  • Supporting our treasured local traditions

  • Addressing climate change in ways appropriate to Healdsburg

  • Support for our burgeoning arts economy

I am pictured here with Abel De Luna, Healdsburg's first Latino Mayor. Naming our Community Center for him was one of the most memorable things I have done on Council.

About Chris:

Mayor Chris Herrod was born in, and has lived most his life, in Healdsburg. He graduated from Healdsburg High, just like his wife Briana, and two sons, Arlo and Henry. Later he attended Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State, earning a BA in psychology.

Chris has worked nearly 30 years as a Sales Manager, selling parts and tools for guitar makers. On Council, he understands and works hard to support small businesses, serving two terms as Council liaison to the Chamber of Commerce. Before his election to Council in 2022, he served for seven years on the Parks and Rec commission, with two terms as Chair.

Chris was unanimously selected to serve as Mayor of Healdsburg for 2026 by his colleagues on Council.

Briana, Henry, Arlo and Chris.

Healdsburg's first District Election!

We didn't get to district elections voluntarily, but here we are now -and we are making the best of it!

This will be Healdsburg's first district election, with voting for City Council members happening in both District 4 (where I live) and in District 2, on November 3 2026.

District 4 is roughly east of Healdsburg Avenue, between Powell Ave. and Terrace Blvd.

District 2 is between Powell and Piper streets. The other 3 districts will hold elections in 2028. To find out for sure which district you live in, follow this link.

About the 4th District

Not only have I lived most my life in Healdsburg, I have also lived most of it in the neighborhood that exists in the 4th district!

Our district is defined by proximity to the Hospital, Healdsburg High School and Fitch Mountain School. Fittingly, it's a great place for families. To the east are the hills adjacent to Fitch Mountain, and to the west is Healdsburg Avenue's lengthy straightaway section. It is home to the robust March Ave. neighborhoods (now patiently enduring a major and welcome road overhaul!), numerous churches, and the Villas neighborhood off of University. It's a lovely place to live and I enjoy many friendships with folks nearby.
